Table - best surf conditions forecast for Kalim Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here, and we’re looking at a tough 16 days ahead for Kalim Beach. This is an exposed reef that needs a sweet SW swell and clean wind, but we’re just not catching a break.
The first few days offer absolutely nothing. We finally see a sliver of hope on Thursday, July 16th, with a marginal 4ft west swell in the morning. The wind is light and onshore, so it might look okay from the car park, but the energy is weak (238) and it’s a real question mark. After that, it’s back to poor, choppy, onshore conditions through the rest of the week.
Heading into the second week, the swell actually fills in—big time. From Monday, July 21st, through Thursday, July 24th, we’re looking at solid 8ft to 8ft west swell with real grunt (energy peaking at 887). But here’s the problem: it’s getting hammered by fresh onshore winds—25 to 30 mph WSW. The wave comment is "poor surf conditions" every single day. At that size (anything over 8ft is heavy), it’s expert territory, and with that wind, it’s gonna be a blown-out, lumpy mess. That setup screams kite-surfing more than paddle-surfing.
Kalim is an inconsistent spot, and this is a proper flat spell for quality waves. It’s a bummer, but it happens here. The water feels about normal for this time of year. Keep an eye on it, but don’t hold your breath. Rusty.
