Trabeg or Kinard Surf Guide

Trabeg or Kinard in Kerry is an exposed beach break that has quite reliable surf and can work at any time of the year. The best wind direction is from the north northeast with some shelter here from north winds. Waves can be ok even in light onshore winds Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the best swell direction is from the southwest. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves and there is also a left hand reef break. Best around low tide when the tide is rising. An uncrowded break, even when it is working. Take care to avoid the rocks.
