“Beautiful country with generally nice people except the surf community is the worst I have seen and I travel a lot...actually Reunion Island there were a bunch of losers who think they own the wave. Even the young kids in Mauritius will tell you you can't surf the inside section of Tamarin.... Losers! Not sure if is a French thing but when I was on the Basque coast surfing the people were fine.”

“Also there 1973 or 74 may have been in the same house you had to take a tinny to get to the house over the estuary. Use to go to lambs shop to get food such as white death (white bread roll and black death a bottle of coke) and beer that he sold out of the window of the store at particular times at night. I am an Aussie to and there was a few of us in the house it was a fantastic lifestyle with excellent surf just a long paddle out to the reef, dont know if these names ring a bell...Mouse, Chalky....”

“Surfed Tamarin Bay in July and August of 1973. We got a moderate swell the first few days I was there....very uncrowded in those days. We stayed for 5 weeks in a house we rented with several Aussies right on the point in front of the reef. Great memories. Anyone there that summer?”
