Raglan-Whale Bay in West Coast Auckland is a reasonably exposed reef and point break that has reasonably consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. The best wind direction is from the southeast. Still reasonable in light onshore winds Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the optimum swell angle is from the southwest. A left hand reef break. Best around mid tide. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Hazards include rocks and locals.
