“Fun little break and very consistent. I’ve been here twice and this last trip I’ve seen a big change from 2014 to 2018 and not for the good. Localism is much more hostile and aggro is the norm in the water from Israelis to Argentinians to Costa Ricans. It’s a shame but I’ve witnessed six yelling fits in the line up. Like absolute children. You’d never know people were there to actually have fun. I was not involved in any of them as I do my best to avoid all confrontation. This was during off season on a very average days. Can’t imagine on a good day. This was once a small sleepy surf town with few surfers and now it’s on its way to becoming another Tamirindo which I grew up surfing in the 90’s and watched the progression/regression. It is what it is.”

“I live here for half the year. The crowds are not a factor if you are not a party boy. You can get great waves at first light till 7:30 or 8:00. Crowds thin out some by nine for work. Crowded is a relative term. Often you will see a number of newbies in the line up not really surfing. I am 65 years old and find a peak coming my way plenty often. Aggro surfers are most likely just visiting. Pura Vida”
