Visitor reviews of Pasta Point surf break

“If you want to wake up before breakfast to surf- go out before lunch and then catch a late afternoon session before sunset, Past Point is not the place to go!!
The incoming current makes it impossible to surf for at least 1/2 the day as you can't get to or stay at the peak. Then after low tide, provided that the wind (even the trade SW wind) is light enough to not cause a side wobble, everyone is out making the most of it. That being said, we had good wave 4 or so times out of the 10 days - a bit of a racetrack with 2 or 3 turns at the end but very consistent size.
Sultans is across the other side (which is also subject to the un-relenting current) had 36 people out (5 boats) so that was not a great alternative if the wind was too strong for Pasta or a tropical squall came through (which was everyday in July 22). But I will say that the marine life is just awesome and everyday provided a new experience from devil rays, tip sharks, turtles, and countless varieties of fish there is heaps to see.”

“Pasta Point is a great wave when it is on. When there is swell and light or favourable winds it is a long, mechanical left that is always fun and sometimes offers tubes. The best thing about it is that it is exclusive to Chaaya resort guests and they limit surfer numbers. This is not the case with all other North Male atoll breaks which are often very crowded with surfers from Lohifushi and charter boats.
Southwest winds which are common in the Maldives during the swell season tend to blow Pasta Point (and Honkies) out and you are restricted to the rights at Sultans and Jails which will also be wind-affected if the SW wind is strong.”
