“Please rebuild Shorty's Longest Pier. Loved going there there for night fishing. I hope a rebuild is in the making.”

“Meacom Pier, or as we knew it, Shorty's Longest Pier was a great spot to go in the early 80's. Never really that crowded and you could always jump off the pier if the surf was up and did not want to deal with paddling. The sandbars around the pier always seemed to kick up some nice surf. I had some great winter days there, shoulder to head high sets were common. Unfortunately, time and storms took away the old pier. These days when I passed by its location, there is no longer a pier and not really any beach access. Just for reference, the location on the map above has it located where the North Jetty is (no surf), where as Meacom's Pier was actually about 25 miles down the peninsula, a few miles past Rollover Pass. Great memories of the place though!”
