Carrownisky Surf Guide

Carrownisky in Mayo and Achill Island is a quite exposed beach break that is often working and works all around the year. Ideal winds are from the east and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Easily blown out by onshore winds Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the ideal swell angle is from the west northwest. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Sometimes crowded. Dangerous rips are a hazard of surfing here.
