Kanaka from United States
“The ideal swell direction is *not* S-SE: you'll get some wraparound but the ideal direction is E-NE or NE Groundswell from big low pressure systems or after the tradewinds have been blowing strong for several days. It doesn't break very often at size but when it's big, it's advanced and experts only as many of the best surfers on the island show up.

This is no tourist spot. It's very localized with a small take off area and I've seen even veteran transplants get kicked out of the water. At size, it can be a world class albeit short wave. Ammonias is powerful, hollow, and machine-like when it's on.”
