Withernsea Surf Guide

Withernsea in North East England is a fairly exposed beach break that only works once in a while. Winter and spring are the optimum times of year to visit. Works best in offshore winds from the southwest. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the north. The beach breaks favour lefts. Best around low tide. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Be careful when surfing close to the groynes.

“Ha, this break didn't work best at low tide either on the push or tide out??? Skerrys is no longer the main break, the whole beach should be checked as north ends is often better if you can be bothered to check it lol.”
