“Your discrption of the Tijuana Sloughs is actually for the "Boca Rio" beach break, which is, basically, the shorebreak for the Tijuana Sloughs. The Sloughs itself is a REEF break (cobblestone) extending from 300 yards to over 1/2 mile offshore. It only breaks on the biggest northwest and north groundswells, creating rides often measured in hundreds of yards. The waves can get very big, maintaining beautiful shape, are extremely powerful, and create extrordinarily dangerous conditions for the unprepared.”
