The Cliff in Newcastle is an exposed sandbar break that has very consistent surf. Offshore winds blow from the northwest. Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the optimum swell angle is from the southeast. The sandbar breaks offer left-handers. The location means that it never gets crowded. Hazards include - Urchins - Rips / undertow - Rocks - Localism - Sharks.
