Why no crowds on a sunny Saturday? Because the wind was good everywhere and Nelson surfers were spoiled for choice.

| patrick doyle | In these conditions (light wind, glassy headhigh waves) Schnappers is hard to beat, and Nelson surfers aren't that spoiled for choice. But, having surfed the break by myself a number of times, or with just a few out, in similar conditions, anything is possible. And that makes surfing what it is. |
