“When Hells mouth is blown out and the wave buoys are in excess of 11ft the swell pushes round to Porth Colman. Works best when the wind direction is from the south which blows directly over the top of the cliffs providing sheltered off shore conditions. Wind from the south west and its cross off which interferes with the shape of the waves. Two breaks on this beach. As you walk over the field from the car park the first is directly in front of you to the left the second is on the far left hand side. Try and avoid anything right of middle especially at high tide due to rocks. Surfs best 2 hours either side of high tide. Shape of wave can be good but close outs are also common within sets.”
