Ponta Preta in Sal is an exposed reef and point break that has pretty consitent surf. Winter is the favoured time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the east. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the northwest. Both right (best) and left reef breaks.. Best around low tide. Rarely crowded here. Submerged rocks are a hazard.
