Noordhoek Surf Guide

Noordhoek in Cape Peninsula is an exposed beach break that usually has waves. Spring and Summer provide the optimum conditions. Offshore winds are from the southeast. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the optimum swell angle is from the southwest. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves. Best around low tide. Relatively few surfers here, even on good days. Beware of urchins, rocks and sharks.

“When you're surfing Noordhoek and there is a storm out at sea, monster sets can turn up that are twice the size of the prevailing sets, so check the horizon! These sets will break further out, so if you're at the back, you're going to get dumped on by a few tonnes of angry sea!”
