“Newport point only gets good if you are lucky a hand full of days per year when the very largest summer hurricane generated swells push steep angle marking south swells almost sideways at the point. It’s a perfect wave that will peel mostly left, but also right. Wide open spitting barrels that are heavy. If you make the drop and pull in you have a good chance of getting really deep and coming out. Very similar to Puerto Escondido in Mexico.as good or better than Blacks Beach and Silver Strand Beach on their best days easily. On those big South swells it never closes out because it gets to big, the bottom is the pefect angle it just breaks out further in deeper water.”
