“No it is definitely not Bali in the 70's. Been coming since 1994 and then it still had the fishing village feeling, relatively few locals surfing, surfers mostly the travelling adventurer kind.... Nowadays it is going the same direction as the southern spots...slowly but surely. Atmosphere still good despite of this, at least if there is not too much southern crowd and surf-schools coming up for the day. This is not really a good beginner spot, unless you get a guide to help you out....Have fun, love the ocean, show respect and good behaviour.....cheers.”

“A fantastic break: a big workable left hander that is about 90 metres long and breaks in 3 sections, the locals are great and never gets too crowded, except when its flat at kuta and ya get a carload or 2 come up for the day, this is bali circa 1970s, 30 cents a coffee 2 bucks a nasi. A couple of bombies to look out for but pretty cool.”
