Southport Main Beach Surf Guide

Southport Main Beach on the Gold Coast is an exposed beach break that has very consistent surf and works all around the year. Offshore winds are from the west. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the east southeast. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Watch out for - Rips / undertow - Shark protected.
