“Llorente Eastern Samar Rivermouth Surf Break
Llorente is a rivermouth sandy bottom righthander with a lefthander on the other side of the peak with heavy shorebreak on big days. The takeoff is a straight sloping wall with potential mini tubes on the inside depending upon how the sand bottom is shaped up. When the waves are small the long stretch of Llorente beach breaks can be surfed.
Surf Conditions and Surfing Equipment Required
When typhoons and super typhoons are sending in ground swells, Hawaiian style guns are a good choice on the outside points and reefs with their double to triple overhead plus sets. Also your standard short board will work fine too. When the surf is small, longboards to the new retro high volume shortboards is suggested to have fun.
More Eastern Samar World Class Surf Spots
Around the Llorente Eastern Samar region are many right left reef and point reef breaks. As this area is still unspoiled and relatively uncrowded we are not saying where these other world class surf spots are located right now until the locals are setup to benefit from increased tourism.
Llorente Food and Accommodations
Stores have basic food stuffs with local restos serving up basic meals with fish plentiful. There are very simple rooms for rent and pension houses with very low rates.
Communications
Mobile phone access is available from Smart Communications and Globe Telecom. Internet access is via USB internet sticks plugged into your laptop or tablet. Buy your mobile phones, sim cards, and internet sticks in Manila Cebu or Tacloban as local supply may be limited. Currently USB internet sticks are not super fast compared to wired broadband but the telecoms are upgrading their systems and speed should be increasing in the near future. 1 hour away in Borongan town has high speed internet with cafés and wifi.
Transportation
Public transportation is readily available from vans, jeepneys, and buses. Private cars are available for rent in Tacloban City, Guiuan and Borongan with or without a driver guide. Gasoline auto repair service is readily available in most all Eastern Samar towns, and even in emergencies from roadside sellers who sell gas in 1 liter coke bottles where there are no gas stations.
Healthcare
Most all areas of Eastern Samar have a health clinics and or doctors with pharmacies plentiful to get drugs for what ails you. For extreme medical conditions, you'll want to get to a major city of Tacloban, Cebu or Manila for treatment at hospital.”
