“I am from Puerto Rico, although I currently live in the united states. I have surfed this spot (and many others) countless times. Cochino's: the name means Filthy or Pigs because the water is rarely clear and clean. It is where the surfers of Lewvittown learned to surf. I am from Levittown. This spot was great during the 70's- the mid 90's when the pier was still standing. Looking from the shore, the left side of the pier was known as Cochino's the right side of the Pier was known as Piedra. It required a medium swell for it to begin and it attracted all the highschool groms of Levittown. It was our training grounds. It was awesome. Threw out the years after many swells and hurricanes the Pier started to fall apart. Today only a remnant remains. When the Pier left so did the surf spot. It no longer works as it used to. Go somewhere else.
By the way if you have read other reviews by me it is because I miss home and surfing. Also becuase this website is lacking reviews. My reviews are genuine from a local who has surfed these spots. I have not surfed every spot in PR, but I have surfed a whole bunch of them. I will only review the ones I have actually surfed at.”
