Bruiser from Australia
“You have to be lucky to get this wave. Early in the season when winds are favourable from the NW there is often not much swell. When the swell arrives so do the SW winds which chop Honkeys up. However when it is breaking it is an excellent left. The special feature of Honkeys is that it wraps around the reef almost 90 degrees. As it really starts to wrap it builds in size so you can get a great slingshot through a hollow section that is growing before your eyes and threatening to smack you down.”
