Hirdles on the South Coast is a reasonably exposed beach break that has quite reliable surf and can work at any time of the year. Ideal winds are from the north northwest with some shelter here from north winds. Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the optimum swell angle is from the east northeast. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded.
