Grotta in Reykjanes Peninsula is an exposed reef break that has fairly consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. The best wind direction is from the east and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the optimum swell angle is from the west. There is no reef break. Even when the surf is up, crowds are unknown. Watch out for dangerous rips.
