5th Street in New Jersey is a fairly exposed beach/Jetty break that has reliable surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the northwest. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the optimum swell angle is from the northeast. The beach breaks peel to the left. Good surf at all stages of the tide. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water. Hazards include rips,pipes.
