Visitor reviews of El Transito surf break
(NOTE: Reviews may be edited by our content team for the purposes of ensuring accurate and relevant information)
“Extremely consistent beach break. Best in off season smaller swells of waste to 1' overhead with offshores most every day and all day. Good in the high season as long as it is under 2' overhead. Rarely gets below waste high. Surfable at most tides, best tide...mid incoming our mid outgoing. 1 to 1.5 hour from Managua, no crowd factor whatsoever, predominant offshore winds. World class surf within walking distance and/or a short boat ride. Daily bus transport from Managua. The upside is also the downside. Not many places to stay, eat, nightlife. There is one great place though. GreenSurf Nicaragua has a nice facility there, clean private rooms / private bath, AC, cheap rates (start at $35 / night), best cook in the village and a great menu at about $5 / plate.”
