El Anclote in Nayarit is a fairly exposed reef break that is often working and works all around the year. Offshore winds are from the north northwest. Groundswells more frequent than windswells and the best swell direction is from the southwest. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water.     “El anclote 1967- 3 hours from hwy 1 to the point -- villages had never seen many gringos -- surf good -- road unbelievable -- nothing on point except grass and cows -- abandoned thashed shacks on the beach -- now world class hotels and homes.”
