Visitor reviews of Dana Point surf break
(NOTE: Reviews may be edited by our content team for the purposes of ensuring accurate and relevant information)
“DOHO is a break that attracts mostly long board surfers of all abilities, experience, and ages. The three breaks (bone yards, second spot and rivermouth) can get crowded on weekends.
When the surf is up the outer reef beyond second spot can be the start of loooong rides either right or left.
Unless it is really small the (almost machine like) groomed waves allow for tricks and follies that other places can't.”

“Doho can be surfed by everyone from beginners to experts depending on the size and shape of the waves. There are three breaks Rivermouth, second spot and the jetty. Also on big days there is a bitchen outside spot on the reef beyond second spot. Long boards are the weapon of choice with most people, as the waves are best suited to them. The waves allow for many tricks and maneuvers but short boards are seen as well.”
