“Cutty Wow is a nightmare to boaters and sailors alike; a true navigation hazard. As a Coastie in the 70's and 80's, saw some amazing walls there, but don't think it's rideable because breaks in 4-8' of water over barnacled-encrusted reef. It seems waves come out of nowhere and depending on swell direction, 50 yd left on SW and shorter run on left from SE............From Goosewing, you can see peeps out there sometime on longboards (mile paddle) at high tides that give a jacked up take-off and quick pull out; looks exciting! There's giant Tautog and Mako that hangout at the reef”

“Thank you for the info about Sakonnet and Newport; was visiting from Mundaka and was assured by local lobsterboiz that the SE direction of hurricane swells would provide monumental waves.....the cliffs from beyond the harbor everyday had some waves at some submerged reef all the way to a wildlife refuge in Tiverton...some people stared when we carried boards across their green lawns only to dive off cliffs. Church Ledge had 2 days of real 6'+ barrels.....mini Mundaka! Elbow Ledge had crew of locals who would cut off people trying to paddle in. Asshole's from University of Road Island and Nahant? I also tried Narragansett beer and 'steamers'.....Sh*t a hole right thru my 3mm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Once swell subsides under 5', Cutty Wow will rival The Box in Australia.....Am currently in Fall Rivah awaiting the big ones at Lloyd Demarest and peninsula east...the hurricanes are pulsing north, and, if they push east will send these mysto points goin off. Have only seen them form lobster boat....they are long lefts and rights and winds appear to be offshore from NE........will send photos as can tell never been ridden!”

“Cutty Wow is a piles of jagged boulders 1.5 miles south of Goosewing Beach; it's breaks in 50' of water, so quick 'slab' drop and cover....no more than 30 yd. ride if right connects to 2nd set of boulders to n.......left just acid drop ,then dies.....offshore winds blow you to Dover, Great-White migratory route, dumb-ass lobstermen leave their gear their for you to drown in, smugglers tie up drugs to be picked up for Fall River.....Whitey, Mark, Chip first pulled us into wave w/ skiff as breaks so fast, hardly paddleable. Miniatur Elbow without the gansett' shleps! Much better possibilities along S. Dartmouth peninsula's if looking feral!”
