Culdaff Surf Guide

Culdaff in Donegal is a quite exposed beach break that has consistent surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. Offshore winds blow from the southwest and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the north. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. Surfable at all stages of the tide. Crowds are never a problem here. Rocks are a hazard.

“Culdaff Beach faces North East in the Inishowen Peninsula,
It has loads of breaks from main beach to the Caravan Beach, Both Lefts and Rights. Best surf Conditions is a Big Westerly Swell that raps in for a good peeling wave. Too much North in the swell will usually Close Out. off shore winds is anything South in it, SW S SE. all tides is ok sometimes best on low.”
