Basil | Formerly called "gremmies" now uShaka beach;just south of Addington. Very protected from swells and as the result seldom gets bigger than 2 foot except in cyclone season (February-Mar)when NE cyclone swells come marching in from Madagascar then Offshore reef (Vetch's pier) just 500m to South produces awesome hollow rights averaging 4 foot plus. Sadly this condition only happens two or three times per year. For the rest of the year great place to learn to surf. |

STUART MILLER | Definitely close to Vetchies Pier . On an easterly swell I used to surf small waves on the inside of Vetchies that broke on this little right hand brake . Each time the bank created this perfect little machine type wave. The years would have been between 1966 and 1970. I now live in Caloundra Australia. Durban would have one of the best beach break waves in the world. You guys are very fortunate, Cheers |

Rocky | That is NOT New Pier - it is the "old" Vetchies (Gremmies Corner) now Ushaka Beach. |
