Tokomaru Bay Surf Photo: 'Tokomaru Bay Reef' by Rob Davies

The right breaking reef at Tokomaru Bay needs at least 2m of swell from a SE direction. This swell was slightly north of east so at the beach in front of the township where the curve of the bay faces this direction, it was breaking well overhead but here it translated to at best shoulder high waves that because of the swell angle were breaking a bit too straight onto the rocks.
