“Mike from usa is the kook, it is a shame that comment comes up 1st on the webpage. The guy that runs the camp does not work with the coastguard extorting money. If the boats are not registered then they should expect to be questioned.
The waves in the area, including Treasure Island are definitely worth travelling to.”

“Mate are you kidding? The right in the bay is probably the worst of the three main waves, and this year there were some of the best days long-time operators have seen at Treasures. Sure it's a bit more fickle than the ments but still smoking, probably good to get more write-ups like yours to keep the crowds away though!”

“Treasures is average at best after earthquake reef was lifted 2 meters and seldom breaks. When it does it has this backwash bowel that bounces in and out off reef. Bay of plenty is not so plenty with Kook running the Banyak lodge. He works with the local coast guard extorting money from private boats and charters. The right at the bay is a nice wave but not worth the cost and time to travel. Be careful up there. If you don't have the 2-300 $US to bribe the Authorities they will take your boat to town.”
