Salmon Hole Surf Guide

Salmon Hole in Yorke Peninsula is a fairly exposed point break that has very reliable surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. Works best in offshore winds from the east southeast. Groundswells are more common than windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the west southwest. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Rarely crowded here. Watch out for rocks and sharks.

“Fast peeling right hander to 10 to 12 ft face offshore winds are east to north, breaks more regularly in the winter half of the year. Although this break is correctly postioned on the map, many other breaks on the peninsula are wrongly positioned on this map.”
