“Every access is closed from Main Rd, so, you'll have to boat it in from harbor; needs 6'+ and S/SW for anything rideable to show and NE/NW winds......a few slabs and short tubes are guaranteed......Weepoo Marsh has best beach break on the east side of Sakonnet; left and right 3-6'...locals are very parochial, so, don't go to Stone House expecting to get banged!”

“While a primo spot, only breaks every couple of years. Will have to access with watercraft from Sakonnet Harbor of Refuge. Hurricane S/SW giant swells go up river-mouth and meet Bailey's ledge (short left barrel), Brown's and Church Point (again, short left barrels), then Mysto Road with long Left and Rright; further north near Fish Ladder , another left slot. Much better than windblown and overblown Elbow Ledge.”

“Sakonnet is just north of the fabled Elbow Ledge....the breaks here are along west-facing exposure and are varied...first, Bailey Ledge, a left reef/point north of Sakonnet Point Harbor of Refuge. Needs 6' swell and e-ne winds and long paddle off wharf. Headin up river, Taylor's Lane breaks on bluff with r and lefts; parking is public. 2-10' with n or nw winds (this get's mobbed from gay polo riders from across the Bay from Portsmouth)....beware! Heading toward Tiverton is series of slab lefts needing huge swell; the telltale rivermouth and nature reserve is the giveaway........all these are rare rides, but, on that day as good as Ruggles or Monahan's.”
