Rubio in New Ireland is an exposed reef break that has quite reliable surf Works best in offshore winds from the southwest. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the east northeast. There is no reef break. Surfable at all stages of the tide. Crowds are never a problem here. Watch out for coral.
