Alright, let me give you the straight-up word on Rehoboth Main. I’ve been staring at these charts and, honestly, it’s a rough run ahead. We’re looking at a full 16-day stretch where there’s just nothing worth paddling out for. The swell never gets above about 5.6 ft, but when it does, the wind is howling onshore or cross-shore, turning everything into a chop fest. Even the smaller days are plagued by junk wind or short period slop. For a beginner-friendly break like Rehoboth Main, you need clean, small waves, and we’re not getting that.

Let’s walk through it. Starting Wednesday 8th July – morning sees a tiny 1.6 ft from ENE with a weak 6‑second period and a light cross-onshore. Combined energy is a measly 34 (weak) – just wind ripples. Afternoon gets a bit more wind but same story. Thursday 9th is cross-shore and choppy, waves even smaller. Friday 10th morning is the closest we get to “decent”: a 1.6 ft SSE swell with offshore wind from the west – clean, but the period is still only 6 seconds, energy 41. The afternoon goes cross-shore and messy again. Saturday 11th morning goes cross-offshore with 1.3 ft, then afternoon turns glassy – but it’s still only 1.3 ft from SSE, period 7 seconds, energy 23–24. That’s barely a ripple. Nothing to ride.

Sunday 12th through Tuesday 14th sees a slight bump: 2.3 ft to 5.6 ft, but the wind is almost always onshore or cross-onshore. Monday 13th afternoon hits 5.6 ft from ENE with a 6‑second period – that’s a short‑period wind swell, energy climbs to 254 (moderate). But with onshore wind at 12 mph, it’s a choppy, blown‑out mess. Too big for beginners anyway, but for anyone else it’s just junk. Tuesday 14th morning has 4.3 ft from ESE with 8‑second period and light cross‑shore wind – still only a marginal call, energy 212 (moderate). The rest of that week stays small and cross‑shore.

Wednesday 15th to Friday 17th offshores and glassy periods appear – Wednesday morning has 2.6 ft ESE with cross‑offshore wind, clean, but the period is 8 seconds, energy 83 (weak). Friday 17th morning goes glassy with 3.0 ft from ENE, period 5 seconds – that’s basically a lake. The wind is perfect, but the swell is weak and short.

Then from Saturday 18th onward, the swell stays under 3.6 ft with periods 4–8 seconds, and the wind is mostly cross‑offshore or offshore, but the energy never gets above 97 (weak). You’d be sitting out there on a board with nothing coming through.

The water is unusually warm – 78.1°F, a full 5.9°F warmer than normal for this time of year. That’s a red flag for local runoff or weird currents, but for surfing it just means you don’t need a wetsuit.

Bottom line: there’s not a single day that I’d recommend. The only highlight on the horizon is the glassy moments on Friday 17th morning and Tuesday 21st morning, but the swell is so small and weak it’s barely surfable. If you’re a total beginner wanting to practice pop‑ups on foam, maybe – but don’t expect any ride. For anyone else, save the petrol. Forecasts can change, but as it stands, it’s a long dry spell.
