“Pyramid rock is very reliable. I live probably 20 minutes away, and that's me riding my bike to the beach. It's easy access if you are military, active duty, guard, or reservist. but the only downside is that it is located on the Marine Corps Base. I personally can't complain because being on the base keeps dumb ahole tourists off of the beach and out of the water. The only thing that I hate more than the tourists, are the life guards. They are constantly repeating false information and purposely alerting the beach goers of shark sightings just to get cut back early and go home 3 hours early. Another problem with this beach is they have no respect for personal space, on multiple occasions the team of life guards has driven over my belongings on their ATVS. Overall ratings. 2.5 outta 10”

“The post about impossible access for active duty, retirees and reservists is absolutely not true: just someone spreading misinformation. Not the best surf but a bit exclusive.”

“This is a reliable but marginal wave - catches trade swell and is usually onshore. However - it is on a US Marine Corps base. As of summer 2015, it has become nearly impossible to get on this base unless you are active duty MC and live on base, or you have a contractor pass to work on base. It's even gotten hard for other US Military branch active duty and retired personnel to get on this base. So I guess the crowds are probably pretty good - no one can get on!”

“Can't do wind and kite surfing on Base, how did it get even one star!? And the part about the crowd, how does it get four stars!? Can't be the same place we are talking about. Pyramid Rock is on a US Marine Base in Kaneohe.”
