Preveli in Crete is a fairly exposed point break. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the northeast and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the southwest. No point break here. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. Even when the surf is up, crowds are unknown. Take care to avoid the rocks.
