Visitor reviews of Plum Island surf break
(NOTE: Reviews may be edited by our content team for the purposes of ensuring accurate and relevant information)
“The quality and location of good breaks is highly dependent on how the sand moves over the winter. There are great days, but for every good day, there are 3-4 flat and choppy ones. Not a location to travel to for surf unless the word is out that it's a good day, but for locals who can pick and choose when to go out there are many good opportunities.”

“A hidden jem for locals especially when crowded at The Wall. Need town parking sticker or wildlife refuge pass.”

“Unrideable waves that crash right into the dirt, localism, no place to park and to top it the access is destroyed. I'm sticking to the wall.”

“The waves here are good at a little before, at, and a little after low tide. There are two breaks here, a sand bar and what we call, The Blue (it's in front of the hotel Blue). It can get big here when everywhere else is flat”

“It's impossible here. The waves break right on the beach. You and your board will get smashed and you'll be pulling sand out of every crevice for days. Save your time and head to the wall.”
