“Just wanted to correct a statement made by another reviewer about point break status. La Lancha is for sure a point break with botham left and a right. Most visitors mistake the crowded break at the front of the path exit as the break. It is not.. that is a whole other break clogged with tourists and surf lessons that breaks over an out side risky reef. Ot jas a pretty distinct left. The point is to the west and is an amazing spot. Just saying cuz I live here part time. Also' thanks for the reliable surf reports for the area. I trust your site more that any other to keep me in the waves! Muchas mahalos amigos.”

“La Lancha is not a point break as described here but a beach break (we'll fix this, thanks ed.) with some rock structure underneath. It is a right and a left and a very mellow wave suited to beginners. Because of this and the fact that it is a short walk in from the highway, it is frequented by many surf schools, making it very crowded. Expect 20-30 people in the lineup most of the time, with as many as 50-60 on holidays such as Christmas.”
