Itaipuacu in Rio de Janeiro is an exposed reef break that only works once in a while. Summer in particular tends to be flat. The best wind direction is from the northeast with some shelter here from southwest winds. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the southwest. Both left (best) and right reef breaks.. Rarely crowded here. Beware of rips and rocks.
