Island Beach State Park in New Jersey is an exposed beach break that has consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. The best wind direction is from the west. Groundswells and windswells are equally likely and the best swell direction is from the southeast. The beach break offers mainly right hand waves. Best around low tide. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Watch out for rips and jellyfish.
