Dalmeny Point Surf Guide
Dalmeny Point in Far South Australia is an exposed reef break that does not work very often. Summer in particular tends to be flat. Works best in offshore winds from the west southwest with some shelter here from south winds. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the southeast. The right reef break is best, but there is a left reef too.. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Hazards include rocks, rips and sharks.

Dalmeny point is not a reef break but a sand bank which can be a stretch of sand which lies parallel to the rocks giving it a point break appearance. Water and sand pushed out by the mouth of Mummaga lake / inlet seems to assist the bank formation. When the banks are good there can be left and rights. An A frame take off with an often A decent point like right can be surfed in the right conditions ie banks swell and winds?
The info found here about Dalmeny is pretty much right. A great scenic spot with the odd wave that can leave a surfer satisfied if not stoked.”
