Cloudy Bay on the West Coast is an exposed beach break that has pretty consitent surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. The best wind direction is from the north. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the south. Waves at the beach are both lefts and rights. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Rarely crowded here. Watch out for rips and sharks.
