“Not really sure what a lot of the reviews are talking about! Need a boat??? 30 min walk?? Maybe if you're a toddler.
Cat bay is a rad spot from what I've experienced. Works amazingly well with an offshore and although it is rare that the swell gets particularly big, you can still manage with a shorty or a hybrid. If its big enough you don't have to have a mal. I almost always ride my shorty and I've had some amazing rides there. Steep enough ramps to do some cut backs and everything. If you cant manage it and figure its just a mal spot, then you're not trying hard enough! Just beware of locals on the weekend. Veeeery territorial and there's no nice way of putting it, they're assholes. They'll have a go at you for no good reason and then drop in on every single wave. But when you do it, they want to kill you. Go during the week, its a less competitive crowd and everyone is way more mallow and friendly.”

“This wave is really a mal wave. It is a long left or right and great for learning. It rarely gets bigger than 3ft, and when it does its very crowded. Have counted up to 50 guys out at once.”
