Table - best surf conditions forecast for Cala De Meron over the next 16 days.
Alright, talkin' about Cala De Meron. This spot is normally a solid beginner-friendly wave, but this 16-day stretch is gonna test our patience. The water's sitting at a touch warmer than average for the time of year, which is a nice little bonus when you're waiting around.
Right now, and for the next week and a half basically, it's a real struggle. We're looking at a whole lot of "poor surf conditions" with tiny, weak swells. The energy is really low, most days sitting under 100 (weak energy). The wind is mostly cross or onshore, messing up what little ripple there is. There's a real gap here from the start through to around the 19th of July. You're gonna be checking the forecast and putting your board back in the car.
The first hint of something, and I mean a hint, comes on the morning of the 20th of July. The swell bumps up to 3ft from the NW, and the energy kicks up a bit to 169 (moderate energy). The wind is glassy, which is a major positive. But it's still labelled "very ordinary." It's a tiny window, and it's not going to be anything special.
Then we get to the real standout, and it's a long way off. The morning of the 23rd of July is the one to circle. The swell from the NNW jumps to 7ft (11 seconds) and the energy goes nuts to 1016 (strong wave energy). That's a proper groundswell. The wind is a light cross-onshore, which is not perfect, but it's manageable. This is a big swell, well over 8ft, so it's strictly for the experts. That long period (11 seconds) is a classic groundswell, and it'll hold up well.
The next morning, the 24th of July, is another shout. The swell drops to a more manageable 5ft from the N, and the energy is still a solid 451 (moderate to strong). The wind is glassy. This is the best of the whole run for a wider range of surfers. It's clean, the size is good, and it's the best bet.
After that, the energy drops off a cliff again, and we're back to small, weak conditions. The 23rd and 24th are the only two real standouts in this whole 16-day window. The rest is a lot of waiting.
