Table - best surf conditions forecast for Cala De Meron over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let me level with you about Cala De Meron. For the next week or so, we’re looking at a pretty bleak run. The surf is tiny, the winds are mostly cross or onshore and kicking up chop, and honestly, there’s nothing worth paddling out for. It’s not until Monday the 20th that things start to show a real pulse of energy, even then those waves are far from perfect.
Right now from Saturday morning, we’ve got a tiny 2ft NW swell wrapping in with a light cross-onshore breeze. The water is sitting at 68°, which runs a touch warmer than normal for this time of year. But with such weak energy and messy conditions, you’d be better off staying on the beach.
We drag through the weekend and into next week with nothing but flat, lumpy leftovers—swells barely hitting 1ft to 3ft, all with poor surf quality. The combined energy stays low. It’s a real bummer.
Finally, Monday morning the 20th brings a bit of life. A clean 3ft swell from the north, period of 6 seconds, and with the glassy wind off the NE, the conditions start to look surfable. The energy picks up. This is your best chance for a paddle, but don't expect anything epic—it’s small and the shape won't be amazing. Into Monday afternoon the cross-on wind messes it up again.
Tuesday the 21st and Wednesday the 22nd see the swell push up to 4-4ft with the energy building, but the cross-onshore and onshore winds keep the face messy. It’s still not a standout. These are ordinary, choppy waves.
The biggest pulse looks like Tuesday and Wednesday of the following week, but the wind just won’t play ball. For a true standout, we don’t have one here. The only window where you can get wet is Monday the 20th morning if you’re desperate for a small glassy session. The direction (N) is a bit off for the break’s ideal NNW. And keep in mind, crowds are sometimes a factor here.
All said, it’s a lean few weeks. For this area, that’s just how it goes sometimes.
Rusty.
