Table - best surf conditions forecast for Cala De Meron over the next 16 days.
Right then, let’s have a look at what’s on offer for the next couple of weeks. I’ll be honest, it’s a pretty grim start for Cala De Meron. The first week and a bit is a write-off for any sort of decent surf. The swell is tiny, the wind is mostly cross-onshore, and the conditions are just poor. You’ll be staring at flat, choppy water for days. The water temp is sitting at 67.5°, which is about a degree and a half warmer than normal for this time of year, so it’s noticeably mild.
From Saturday the 19th of July, things finally start to look a bit more interesting. The swell picks up from the NW, with heights around 4.3ft to 4.6ft, and the combined energy climbs into the moderate range (133 to 236). The wind is still cross-onshore, but it’s light, so it won’t be a total mess. The real standout, though, is Saturday the 25th of July. That’s the one to circle on your calendar. Swell from the NNW jumps up to a solid 6.9ft, with a period of 10 seconds, and the combined energy is massive at 867 to 952 – that’s some serious power. The wind is light and offshore or glassy, so the waves will be clean and well-shaped. This is big, powerful stuff though, so it’s for the experienced crew only. Beginners, stay well clear that day.
The following day, Sunday the 26th of July, the swell drops back to a more manageable 3.3ft to 3.6ft from the NW, with moderate energy (242 to 291). The wind is light cross-onshore, so it’s still surfable, but nothing compared to the day before.
So, to sum it up: the first two weeks are a total bust. The one true standout is the 25th of July. If you’re an expert, that’s your window. The rest is pretty ordinary.
