The Lowdown
Alright, surf fans. There’s only one break in the mix for this full 16-day outlook, so let’s get into it.
Right now, things are flat. We’ve got a few days of nothing really worth paddling out for. The first couple of days are tiny with poor conditions. On the 24th and 25th, we’re looking at swells under 3 ft with short, weak periods. Winds aren't doing us any favours either. That gap of poor surf lasts until Wednesday morning the 26th, when things start to look a little more hopeful.
Wednesday morning the 26th shows a tiny 2 ft swell from the NW, but the wind goes glassy and it’s surfable. Still, nothing to get too excited about—combined energy is only 52.
The first real standout window kicks off Thursday morning the 27th. Cala De Meron gets a solid 4 ft NW swell with a clean 9-second period, and we’ve got light offshore winds from the SSW. The combined energy jumps to 205, which is moderate, but the conditions are good. That morning is the pick of the first week. Saturday morning the 29th is also worth a mention: 4 ft NW swell, glassy winds from the NE, and clean conditions—energy is 336. The afternoon gets a bit cross-onshore though.
We hit a rough patch Friday the 28th with a strong NW wind and lumpy conditions, even though the swell pushes up. Not worth it.
Rolling into the second week, there’s a decent-looking window early Sunday morning the 6th of September. Glassy offshore wind from the N, and a clean 4 ft groundswell from the NNW with a nice 11-second period. Combined energy is 334. Conditions look good for a fun session.
Then Monday morning the 7th brings another chance: 3 ft NW swell, glassy conditions with a light ESE wind. The energy reaches 412, so there’s some decent power in the water.
But the big one is way out there on Tuesday the 8th of September. This is a standout but only for experts. We’re looking at a massive 10 ft NW swell, a super-long 16-second period, and glassy conditions. The combined energy is a whopping 5160. That’s huge, and it’s way too big for beginners. For the experienced crew at Cala De Meron, if it’s a point or reef setup, those long-period waves will jack up nicely, but at a beach break it might close out. Something to watch for.
Water temp is about average for this time of year.
Alright, look. There are some solid days in the first week and a couple of promising windows in the second week, but it’s not a classic run. The 8th of September is the real standout if you’ve got the skills.
Rusty out.
