My old play ground Daly head on southern Yorke peninsula. Home of breaks- Dalys main break, Salmon hole, Rock pile/pools. The beach south is Formby bay-6km long. to the north, 2 rock fingers, northern most holds the wave- spits. Not any reel swell running this day. I have seen monster waves in 1987 breaking completely outside of the headland here, almost as tall as the cliffs at Salmon hole on a glassy sea. At the same time a point to the SSW of the headland was peeling at 15m/50 feet for 325 m glassy and like a cross between Teahupoo and pipeline. Miss it.
