Smiths Point and Beach Surf Guide

Smiths Point and Beach in the Margarets River Area is an exposed beach and point break that only works when conditions are just right. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds are from the southeast with some shelter here from southwest winds. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the optimum swell angle is from the west southwest. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights and there is a left hand point break too. Surfable at all stages of the tide. It very rarely gets crowded here. Beware of rocks and sharks.
