- The SE wind came up overnight as forecast and spoiled the surf at the Gisborne breaks but at Tologa this was just a light cross-off with good conditions south of the rivermouth with lvery ong lefts around shoulder to head-high and just 3 surfers out.
- Really excellent conditions at Wainui and Makorori all day Tuesday with warm sunshine and very light offshore winds. Set waves that were well overhead at favoured breaks. A good crowd at Makorori Point all day but other spots were quiet.
- The small long period south swell was just surfable on Monday afternoon with a few surfers and a coupld of SUPs out in clean knee to waist high waves on the rising tide. The NE breeze made it a bit ragged west of the surf club. Sunny.
- Started small and clean but the new long period south swell slowly built during Monday afternoon with a few head-high set waves before I quit at 1:30pm, after low water. The NE breeze was just strong enough to put bumps on it. Clouds clearing.

El Paredon surf break:

“The reviews are correct. It's NOT such a great place for consistent surf, or a surf vacation. If you are a beginner and want to learn on the whitewash and like beer pong and not sleeping, then yes! This is the place for you! It's really noisy.
I imagine it might have been nice when some of the earlier reviews were written, probably in the high season. But if you want to SURF, then El Salvador is so close and 1000 times better.
Oh and girls beware, keep your eyes on your drinks at ALL times.”

“Too many people in the water to surf here
Looks like fun.
Phuket way too crowded.”

“I visited in April and May.
Some bodyboard waves.
Nothing for surfers.
Great sunsets.”
